Re-energize your students with these fun, contemporary dance routines! Instructor Judy Notte's lighthearted, dynamic approach is so good that you don't need to learn how to lead the routines--you can simply pop in the video and exercise alongside your students. The video will get your students laughing and enjoying themselves while they get their heart rates up. The Fit Kids' Classroom Workout is a pedagogically sound resource that can be used in any school space, anytime, any day. It's designed to invigorate and motivate your students during their daily routines or to warm them up in preparation for physical activity. The video also teaches students that working out every day can help them feel good about themselves and shows them that exercising is even more fun when they do it with their friends. New research indicates that short bouts of activity not only benefit students' health, but also improve students' concentration and enhance learning. The Fit Kids' Classroom Workout is ideal for this purpose because it's not intimidating A<>A-- students of different abilities can easily follow along. The tape includes four 5-minute and two 10-minute workouts, along with six brief healthy messages (one shown between each energy break and each workout). Each classroom workout introduces entry-level movements that allow students to explore and have fun with exercise. During each five-minute workout, students will learn six to eight individual moves. Each movement is broken down slowly and then repeated many times to ensure success. The 10-minute workouts combine many of these moves. Each classroom workout teaches moves from a different genre: Hip & Happenin' Kardio Funk (wave, tap, box, raise the roof, robocop, funky fish, butterfly, and funky jack) Drum Beatin', Foot Stompin' African! (basic stomp walk, women's walk, men's walk, touch the earth/pat the sky, pulling weeds, fire, and criss-cross) Shimmy, Shakin' & Lovin' Latin (salsa march, box step, step touch, cha cha cha, sizzlin' samba, shimmy shake, shake shoulders, and shuffle) Heart Poundin', Arms Pumpin' Aerobic Dance!
