This video features Schellas Hyndman, Southern Methodist University (SMU) Head Soccer Coach, NSCAA - Sr. VP, Education, NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, 2000-2002. In this video, Coach Hyndman teaches you how to play an attacking style of soccer by utilizing the 4-4-2 system. He uses a combination of chalkboard diagramming and game footage to illustrate how to best put your team in scoring position while limiting the number of vulnerable situations that can lead to an opponent's scoring chances. Hyndman uses a system of attacking in thirds with multiple counter attacks and making safety a top priority. He builds on his three key points of quality passes, body angles and moving quickly while making good decisions to get the most out of the attack. This video is a must for all coaches looking to maximize offensive chances while leaving players in great recovery position to limit the number of opponent scoring chances. 51 minutes. 2003.
