Moses Malone began his professional basketball career in the ABA with the Utah Stars. During the 1976-1977 season, Malone made his way to the Houston Rockets after being traded by the Buffalo Braves. Malone developed into one of the league's top players while in Houston. In 1979, Malone earned the first of three MVP awards while setting the record for offensive rebounds with 587.
