Harsh Barge Europe Tour (DVD)
There's been an influx of tour videos lately, but the Barge seems to be the best in years. Mainly because it's one of the first videos that makes touring Europe, on someone else's dime, seem like a good time. What a novel idea! There's little winning of having to wake up too early or having to sign too many autographs or having to eat too little McDonald's. It's refreshing to see that touring the world, as a professional skateboarder, could still be some fun. The majority of the skating takes place at demos, but here you have some of the best demo skaters in the world, particularly Koston and Crankers. And as tour videos go, it has plenty of street skating. Other highlights include, Carroll taking the slam of his life, McKinley speaking, Biebel hollering, Jeron getting a hot pocket, B.A. doing the illest switch 360 flip on flat, Howard looking smooth in hot pink, and Jereme showing he's all right with being the team whipping boy. What Biebel was to Beware of the Flare (also directed by Girl filmer, Ty Evans), Jereme is to the Harsh Euro Barge. On a team full of strong personalities, the newly acquired Jereme will be able to hold his own. If the Barge is any indication of what Girl's full-length vid, Yeah, Right, will be like, we should be in for a good one. Until then hop onto the Barge and enjoy the ride.
