Sachs is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education, College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, at Temple University, specializing in exercise and sport psychology. He has been at Temple University since fall, 1989. He received his Ph.D. in sport psychology from Florida State University in 1980, and was an Assistant Professor at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres from 1980-1983. From 1983 to 1989 he served as a Research Project Coordinator in the Applied Research and Evaluation Unit in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Mayland School of Medicine. He has an extensive list of publications and presentations, including authorship as associate editor of Psychology of Running and co-editor of Running as Therapy: An Integrated Approach. He is a licensed psychologist in Maryland, as well as a Certified Consultant, Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Sachs served as President of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology in 1991-1992. He is married and has two daughters. He is interested in all sports, and enjoys running as his primary means of exercise. Dr. Kevin L. Burke received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology and recreational studies (double major), with a minor in sociology from Belmont Abbey College in 1982. He also played on the men s tennis team and was a N.A.I.A. All-district 26 Tennis Team nominee in both singles and doubles play. Dr. Burke received the Master of Arts degree in social/organizational psychology from East Carolina University in 1984 and doctoral degree in sport psychology from Florida State University in 1988. A charter member and past Secretary-Treasurer of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP), Dr. Burke also served on AAASP s original Executive Board as the first Student Representative. Having published many research and popular articles, Dr. Burke is currently an associate editor for the Journal
