This scrapbook takes the reader through all of the dramatic changes that shaped the game, from the first mention of Old Tom in a local newspaper in 1842 to the national tributes and proposed memorials to him following his death in 1908. The Scrapbook of Old Tom Morris will be cherished by golfers around the world. St. Andrews resident, David Joy was presenting his one-man act on the life of Old Tom Morris with Prince Andrew in attendance. The performance was a testament to golf's first superstar, and along the way it chronicled the early days of golf and life in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It was also an emotionally-packed story of the life and death of Old Tom's son, Young Tom Morris. As part of his act, Joy had meticulously assembled a scrapbook of Old Tom's life. After the performance, Prince Andrew approached Joy and asked for the scrapbook. Joy was taken aback and stammered that it was just part of the act. Prince Andrew insisted he could not do without it and Joy handed it over. The next morning, Prince Andrew gave it back and said he had stayed up all night reading it. The Scrapbook of Old Tom Morris was born that dayAA... You too will cherish it. Length: 229 pages.
