Our tangerine oil is pressed from the peel of ripe fruit. It is an orange-colored oil with the vibrant fragrance of fresh tangerines. The oil is used in colognes and occasionally in perfumes (See Mandarin Orange). Although the botanical differences between mandarin and tangerine are slight, the oils expressed from each differ in aroma and are not considered interchangeable in aromatherapy. Astringent (must be properly diluted) for oily skin. Tangerine is a delightful addition to children's aromatherapy blends. Aromatherapy benefits: cheering, uplifting. Cold pressed from the tangerine peel and imported from Brazil. It has an sweet, citrus scent. Tangerine oil is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing, but it could however be phototoxic and care should be taken not to expose the skin to sunlight after a treatment. Tangerine oil could be soothing to the nervous system. It is beneficial to the digestive system, helping with flatulence, diarrhea and constipation and is a useful tonic for the skin and could help with stretch marks. It is an oil that can help with the digestive system, reducing fluid retention, soothing the nervous system and is a skin tonic. In vapor therapy Tangerine oil can help with: the nervous and the digestive systems. As a blended massage oil or diluted in the bath, Tangerine oil can assist with: the nervous system, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, and stretch marks. Tangerine oil blends particularly well with: Bergamot, Cinnamon, Clary sage, Clove, Frankincense, Lavender, Nutmeg and Neroli. Essential and resin oils are volatile, fragrant materials extracted from the root, bark, wood, seed, fruit, leaf or flower of a single plant. Essential oils contain the odor, taste and medicinal properties of the plant itself, but in very concentrated form, with no base oil, alcohol, water or dilutants added.
