These papers are made entirely from cotton scraps by small-scale cottage industries. The handmade process minimizes the energy consumption, and the substitution of waste cotton and discarded natural mottling materials (such as straw, silk, algae, sugarcane, tea, wool, flowers, etc) in place of wood pulp results in papers which are not only ecologically friendly but very artistic and practical as well. Great for many purposes, including scrapbooking, pen-and-ink drawings, calligraphy, and ink-jet and laser printers. Because these papers are handmade they may vary in thickness, texture and color.
