Magnetic Chinese Chess - Sand - Large Chinese Chess, or Xiang Qi, has been played in China at least since the first century AD. It evolved from the same Indian game as "Western Chess", so many of the pieces and rules are similar. The pieces include Generals, Elephants, Counselors, War Chariots, foot soldiers and Cannon (added later). The board also features Fortresses and a river dividing the board. This magnetic board may be used as a travel game or placed on your refrigerator or filing cabinet for an ongoing game.It comes with clear vinyl travel pouch, magnetic "your move", "check" and "checkmate" markers and helpful instructions. It measures 7 1/4" square and is about 1/4" thick.
