Adaptec's family of zero-channel RAID (ZCR) cards offer the ideal
solution for an affordable, flexible upgrade path to advanced RAID.
This innovative approach reduces the cost of the RAID controller by
eliminating the need for an additional Adaptec SCSI chip on the
controller.
This "credit card sized" RAID card plugs into a specially designed
small form factor PCI connector (an SO-DIMM connector attached to
the PCI bus via Adaptec Embedded RAID Logic (EMRL)). This unique
design gives high-density servers advance RAID data protection and
performance without sacrificing a PCI slot, making it ideal for 1U
and 2U rackmount servers.
Adaptec ZCR cards come packaged with Adaptec s intuitive Storage
Manager Pro, which software that greatly simplifies RAID storage
configuration and management. Users can locally and remotely
configure and manage cards installed in one or more servers from a
single client workstation and user interface reducing training
time and increasing efficiency. Arrays can be expanded online when
additional capacity is needed providing convenience, flexibility,
and maximum server uptime.
