MiLANs EmPowered Ethernet Series Power over Ethernet solutions
deliver a unified supply of data, voice, and video as well as
electrical power through a single source by sending power over
standard Category 5 (and above) twisted pair cables. Power over
Ethernet simplifies installation and eliminates the need to run
separate power cords and LAN cables to each Access Point or port
location.

MiLANs EmPowered Ethernet Series Power over Ethernet solutions are
802.3af compliant, which means that you are ensured of the following
when deploying MiLANs PoE Solutions:
- Legacy Installation - ensures safe delivery of power to existing
legacy devices as well as power-enabled terminals.
- Preservation of Cabling Infrastructure - avoids altering existing
wiring and does not damage cabling infrastructure already in place.
- Data Integrity - Power delivery over Ethernet cables does not cause
data degradation of loss of data integrity.
Wireless Equipment Cost Savings
MiLANs EmPowered Ethernet products enable the network designer to use
fewer "well placed" Access Points to achieve better performance at a
lower overall cost. Poor Access Point placement can easily double
wireless equipment/cabling costs if your installation layout is tied to
existing AC power outlet locations.
PoE Safety Issues
Some proprietary or "low cost" PoE solutions can be become very costly
if accidentally plugged into a laptop or switch with no PoE capability
or not designed to IEEE 802.3af standards. MiLANs Injectors all have
individual port fuses and auto-sensing device detection providing
protection from over-voltage damage or incorrectly connected devices.
