Retrospect Desktop is designed specifically for use in home and
small offices. Desktop edition backs up one local Macintosh desktop
or notebook and two other networked desktops or notebooks running
Mac OS, Microsoft Windows, or Red Hat Linux. Desktop is easy to
use, and it provides complete protection for critical data on
individual computers and small computer networks. Client licenses
are available for additional computers.
Desktop overcomes the problems of drag-and-drop backups, which are
performed sporadically and do not protect important system files or
retain older versions of files. Retrospect delivers complete
protection for all your creative projects, photos, music, e-mail,
contacts, applications, and preferences. Retrospect's automated
technology allows you to easily set up complete, scheduled backups
for up to three networked desktop and notebook computers. Unlike
other backup software, Retrospect can perform incremental backups
to save time while avoiding flawed restores that incorrectly return
previously deleted, renamed, and moved files and folders.
The latest version of the number one home and small office backup
software for the Macintosh now protects Power Mac G4 and G5
computers running Mac OS X "Panther." The product CD provides
bootable Mac OS X disaster recovery and includes both Retrospect
6.0 for use with Mac OS X and Retrospect 5.1 for backing up to Mac
OS 9 computers.
