"I wish the ring had never come to me...I wish none of this had happened."

"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

One of the most powerful moments in Peter Jackson's film version of The Fellowship of the Ring is this exchange of dialogue between Gandalf (as played by Academy Award® nominee Sir Ian McKellen) and Frodo (Elijah Wood) in the Mines of Moria. This wonderful scene was first highlighted in a newspaper ad that ran in cities across the nation on New Year's Day. Ian McKellen posted a copy of the ad on his web site as his own New Year's greeting, and we began to receive numerous requests for a poster based on the ad. With the help of thousands of Lord of the Rings fans who participated in an on-line poll, we modified the poster slightly (taking out Gandalf's and Frodo's names and leaving the dialogue to stand on its own) and obtained a color version of the artwork. Then we decided to print the poster on Elite Gloss stock, which is a higher-quality stock than is usually used for movie posters. What we ended up with was an extraordinary collectible, originally inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's words, interpreted by Academy Award® nominee writer/director Peter Jackson, and forged with the help of Lord of the Rings fans across the globe. The poster is printed single sided, measures the traditional 27 x 40 inches in size, is suitable for framing, and is shipped in super-sturdy tubes.
